Bake Traditional Greek Koulourakia at Home

Koulourakia are traditional Greek butter cookies flavored with orange and shaped into beautiful twists. Light, crisp, and perfect with coffee or tea, they are a favorite for holidays and gatherings. With One Bottle Bakery, baking these classic Greek cookies at home is simple and enjoyable.

Directions

Step 1 – Cream the Butter
In a mixer bowl, beat the butter, honey, and orange zest until light and fluffy.

Step 2 – Add Wet Ingredients
In a small bowl, mix the egg and lukewarm milk. Add to the butter mixture and mix until combined.

Step 3 – Add the Mix
In a separate bowl, stir the contents of the One Bottle Bakery bottle to release the aromas. Add to the wet mixture and gently mix with your hands until a smooth, soft dough forms.

Step 4 – Rest the Dough
Cover the dough and let it rest for 20–30 minutes.

Step 5 – Shape the Cookies
Shape the dough into traditional koulourakia twists or braids and place them on parchment-lined baking trays, leaving space between each cookie.

Step 6 – Bake
Brush with egg wash and bake at 340°F (170°C) for 20–25 minutes, until lightly golden.
